Our AED Fund

Since we launched our local AED program in 2022, we have supplied 15 AEDs to our locality, and invested over €30,000 in AEDs, heated outdoor cabinets, batteries, pads, and training.

We are currently working with CFR groups in Leixlip, Balyna, Clane, Edenderry, Robertstown, Allenwood, and Prosperous to create a network of accessible defibrillators in our local community. We aim to help ensure that a working and accessible life-saving AED is within reach.

Our Student Bursary

In May 2024 we announced the winners of our annual CLCU School Bursary Award. Sarah Crowe from Scoil Mhuire Community School in Clane, and Kurians Biju from Coláiste Chiaráin in Leixlip were the worthy recipients of the award. Both winners received €6,000 each to help with their third-level education. 16 other finalists also received €250 each.

Over the past 12 years, the CLCU Student Bursary has donated a total of over €160,000 in funding to local students.

Access to affordable credit:

Croí Laighean Credit Union also offers loans to our members that other financial service providers would likely turn away. In many cases, the minimum value for these loans is just €2,000. This means that our members can access low-cost credit and avoid costly credit card interest rates and overdraft fees.

  • 1039 loans up to €1,000 with a total value of €996,900
  • 505 loans up to €1,500 with a total value of €714,493
  • 628 loans up to €2,000 with a total value of €1,235,533
